Hello, my name is Carol Pelphrey, founder of Essentials For The Special Woman. I know the
fears of our cancer survivors, because I heard the words "You have Breast Cancer" in 2002.
Even my background as a Registered Nurse did not prepare me for coping with this attack on
my body. However, as is often the case for me, I soon found that my fears exceeded reality. I
realized that, with a professionally-fitted breast prosthesis, no one was the wiser that I had had a
mastectomy; this helped in my maintaining a positive self image. I also found other means to
promote my health, such as chemical-free toiletries, relaxation techniques, and aromatherapies.
With these and other techniques, I was able to achieve peace with my diagnosis; and, I now
desire to help other cancer survivors achieve the same.

Hi! My name is Jacqueline Pelphrey. As Carol's daughter, I was excited to join Essentials For The
Special Woman two years ago. Having experienced cancer from a family member's/caregiver's
standpoint, I had my own interest in the assistance of women who have been affected by the
disease; however, as a woman who has not been diagnosed with cancer, I'm also very interested in
promoting products that allow us to live a healthier lifestyle and, possibly, prevent or delay the onset
of cancer. Additionally, I'm excited to be a part of Essentials For The Special Woman as we start to
explore some of the other special needs that women have, including the needs of expectant and
